N Korean leader's lover 'dead' Another story from the BBC. The thing that I find particularly incredible about this one is that the only photo the BBC had avaliable of Kim Jong Il's mistress was that seemingly decades old grainy black and white thing. Or is that the current state of North Korean camera technology? At least Kim Jong Il seems to have had good taste.
The favourite consort of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is Back to school Three weeks without an update, not from being busy but from perhaps too much free time. Without any structure of class, work or serious projects in serious progress, sloth drips down and fills all the cracks like liquid magma slowly drowning a poorly placed village.
Enough of that though. Classes at Rutgers start the day after tomorrow. My schedule has been chosen for weeks or months now and I Call to ban 'thin' from dictionary A Dutch group wants to ban the word 'thin' from the dictionary because it's insulting to underweight people. The group, called Small Intestines Anonymous, represents people who struggle to put on weight. They say the word 'thin' is a term of abuse used by 'fat over-rulers' to put down slender people. The organisation wrote to Dutch dictionary publishers Kramer and Van Dale Daleks to have da-legs England's tabloid The Sun brings this dire pronouncement "DALEKS could be given LEGS in the new series of Dr Who." in the wake of the announcement that The Beeb has finally managed to negotiate the rights to include Daleks in the new series of Doctor Who. Incidentally, The Sun seems to take exclusive credit for this development. "The Sun last week won its battle to save the Daleks."

SINGLE women in Japan have been offered the ultimate bedtime mate: he won't stay out late, he doesn't snore and he won't hog the doona.
Bed buddy ... the Boyfriend Arm Pillow in Seoul, continued I was planning to write earlier, but the power was interrupted by construction. While my laptop battery gave me a few hours of functioning, the building's LAN was completely out, making it impossible for me to actually post anything, so instead I just played Knights of the Old Republic for about an hour and a half.
I left off with Tuesday-being brought to Hanguk Foreign Studies University's Seoul As I said the other day I'm currently staying in Seoul for a few days. I've been to Seoul once before, about a year and a half ago, but that was at a time when I knew almost nothing about Korea and hadn't even yet gotten fully adjusted to life in Japan. Since then I've pretty well used to Japan, and even a little tired of it for the time being, and the language, spent several weeks traveling in Going Home Today is my last day in Japan for the forseeable future. After almost two years living in Kyoto at Ritsumeikan University I'm finally packing up and going back to New Jersey. Tomorrow at 9:50am I fly from Osaka's Kansai International Airport to Incheon Airport in Seoul Korea, where I'm stopping by for a few days, and then on August 1st I'm finally flying home. I've been too busy to post any Taiwanese restauranteur watches 'Temple of Doom' too many times Originally spotted this morning in the print edition of The Japan Times. A good complement to my previous post about exotic Chinese food.
