10th SMEs Conference launches first IBM bus in Singapore delivering innovation directly to mid-sized customers
SINGAPORE, 15 May 2008 - Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) and IBM Singapore will launch the IBM Mobile Express at the 10th Annual SMEs Conference 2008 on 15 May, at the Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. Mainframes color IBM data centers green
IBM will consolidate some 3,900 computer servers onto about 30 System z mainframes running the Linux operating system. The company expects the new setup to use about 80 percent less energy than the current arrangement. The switch is part of Project Big Green, a commitment by IBM to sharply reduce data centre energy consumption for the company and its clients.
