If I Quit Blogging What Would I Do With Myself?
Over the past few days I’ve been thinking seriously about what would happen if I really did quit Blogging. So I decided to have some fun with it. Heck, why should O.J. get all the attention? So far I’ve narrowed it down to these five options...
This Is The End My Friend … The End of the Blog that is
Social Networks are all the rage now. International corporate big-wigs smell the moola as they salivate over the success of MySpace. Then there was MyBlogLog, Blog Catalogue, Facebook, Mybook, Yourbook (I made those up) and these are only just a drop in t
What is Original Content and Copyright Infringement?
Plagiarism has been an ongoing plight ever since the invention of the written word and the blogosphere is no exception. So today I will attempt to resolve this issue (hopefully) once and for all.

New Media Marketing and Blog Podcasting
I found this excellent video showing how easy it is to put audio in your blog as a podcast, video as a vblog, a video podcast or a video blog. This tutorial will help you to bridge the gap between old and new media in simple, easy to understandable terms.
Definition of a Pro Blogger - Setting the Record Straight
According to the definition there are a lot of allegedly “pro” bloggers who are grossly perverting the term “professional“. But as you can see it has absolutely nothing to do with making money from blogging or if you should happen to publish on Wo
It's Official - Blog Bloke has moved Hi Blokesters. It's official now and InstaBloke has moved over to Blog Bloke dot com, so please make a note of it and update your bookmarks as well as the newsfeed. You should also check out my latest post explaining all of the gory details. It's a doozy.
This sort of conversation is always brought up by the elitists who resent the fact that they might have to shout a little louder to be heard. Oh well... live with it...
Sounds like a page taken right out of Dale Carnegie's classic book doesn't it? No doubt if he was still alive today today he would have updated it with a chapter on blogging...
If you haven't been reading the Bloke's other news sites then you should. I've created two for your viewing pleasure. The first is called News @ the Speed of Light. It's a great place to start your day where you will find all of the latest
Blog Bloke gets a Face Lift I hope you like the new look. The old template was starting to look a little dated. I got rid of tables so the site is now pure CSS and will load much faster than before. The design is less cluttered and more functional allowing the viewer to read from left to right. It is designed for higher screen resolutions as I notice that more and more viewers are now using the larger monitors. I've also updated the feeds to include pics.
This is still a work in progress and any feedback will be appreciated. Cheers!
Analyst JupiterResearch is telling marketing professionals to keep their eye on blogs where opinions can be quickly circulated and potentially harm brands.
Some would call it damage control. I call it Blog Power.
Much has been said about what makes a blog successful . Not one to mince words I've decided to cut through all the hoopla and sum it up with the following simple steps. If you follow these diligently your blog can't help but be successful.
This is a continuation of my first post entitled "Bloke's Tips for a Successful Blog". It started out as only a few tips which very quickly evolved into much more. If you arrived here first I recommend that you read part 1 first.
Or should I say reading. It's not everyday that Blog Bloke is quoted by the mainstream media. So imagine my surprise when I noticed incoming traffic from CBS News today quoting my post about Sifry's state of the blogosphere:
"Sifry’s data also shows the much-hyped divide between bloggers and the mainstream media may be artificial. By ranking bloggers’ links, the research shows “clearly, people (bloggers) are still paying a lot of attention to mainstream media stalwarts like The New York Times, CNN, and The Washington Post.” In fact, bloggers link to these sites about three times as often as they link to blogs like the popular Boing Boing.
Some bloggers are concerned about this trend. As Instabloke writes: “By encouraging bloggers to link to their news stories, traffic is being re-routed back again to the mainstream media websites. It's a vicious cycle where bloggers are the obvious losers. They've effectively hijacked our new-found fame and it's a very clever strategy when you think of it.”
If you're not reading InstaBLOKE then you're already out of date. Read InstaBLOKE for the best in commentary on the blogosphere, new technologies, security issues and blogging for business.
Interview with Microsoft about IE7 and RSS The shape of things to come. Find out what's coming down the pipe with internet browsers as Beta News interviews Gary Schare about changes that are coming to IE7, Firefox's growth, and how Microsoft intends to bring RSS to the fore.
What caught my eye is IE7 is geared more towards Windows XP Service Pack 2 users. When asked about backward compatibility his answers seemed a little dodgy to me.
